At JIAS, we support newcomers as they build new lives in Canada, meeting them where they are at in their journey. We provide essential settlement services, programs, and meaningful community connections.
We support newcomers from around the world regardless of faith or country of origin. We are inclusive, 2SLGBTQ+ friendly, and serve all populations. We have a diverse staff and offer settlement services in a variety of languages. JIAS Toronto is the only Jewish Sponsorship Agreement Holder with the federal government in Canada. This allows JIAS to sponsor refugees to come to Canada through the Private Sponsorship of Refugees Program.

They have the right to be safe, treated with dignity and respect, and valued for their traditions, cultures, achievements, and aspirations. We believe that newcomers should be provided with the choices and opportunities that will empower them towards self-reliance.
Past, Present, Future
Founded in 1922, JIAS has been a trusted partner in welcoming and supporting immigrants and refugees for over a century. JIAS was established by the Jewish community to advocate for, welcome, and support Jewish immigrants and refugees.
Today, we are proud to be the only Jewish agency in Canada solely dedicated to immigrant and refugee settlement—serving individuals and families from diverse backgrounds.
As we look ahead, we remain committed to adapting to the evolving needs of newcomers while conitnuing our role as a leading Jewish voice in the settlement sector.
