Partner With Us

In both community and in the settlement sector, partnerships are essential to building strong, welcoming communities. They help us bridge service gaps, amplify important needs and messages, share knowledge and best practices, and, most importantly, respond to the complex and interconnected needs of newcomers.

JIAS actively builds partnerships that help us innovate, strengthen services, share expertise, collaborate around research and evaluation, and expand our reach. By working together, we can create stronger solutions and greater impact for newcomers.

Partner Highlights

Airbnb.org

Shortly after the war in Ukraine began, JIAS reached out to partner agencies overseas to connect with Ukrainians seeking refuge in Canada. Our data informed us that most Ukrainians coming to Canada needed immediate housing and there was no national housing plan in place. JIAS was the first agency in the country to seek a structured way to address this issue. JIAS applied to Airbnb.org as a partner in housing Ukrainians arriving in the GTA and was accepted. This partnership enabled JIAS to use Airbnb’s infrastructure and also opened a pathway for community members to securely host newcomers. After an initial grant of $200,000 in travel credit to book stays for Ukrainians fleeing the war, JIAS became a trusted partner and received additional funding of $500,000 to continue this work through 2023. Impressed with JIAS’s response to this urgent need among Ukrainians coming to Ontario, the provincial government has funded a full-time position at JIAS to provide housing support to those with urgent needs.

JIAS participated in the' Deloitte–LIFT AI for Impact' Cohort

This year, JIAS joined the Deloitte–LIFT AI for Impact Cohort as one of only three settlement organizations selected nationwide. The program equipped our team with the knowledge and tools to responsibly integrate artificial intelligence into our work, from improving operational efficiency to enhancing client services. By investing in AI governance, staff learning, and innovation, JIAS is building the foundation for smarter, more responsive settlement services.
