JIAS Newcomer Welcome Fair

All JIAS newcomer clients are invited to join this one of a kind FREE Welcome Fair that will be held on September 3rd, 2023, at Lipa Green Centre. This is a brand-new program designed to host over 100 JIAS clients (space is limited, register in advance). The event will feature a number of information sessions, networking opportunities for newcomers with long-time Canadians, and children’s activities for newcomer children. Information including education, health, finance, childcare, and citizenship that will help immigrants understand and access a wide range of services which they can benefit from.

Event Highlights are as follow:

Information Sessions:

• How to Apply for Permanent Residence: Ontario Nominations Program and Express Entry System
• Understanding Education in Ontario: Elementary, Middle, and High School
• Navigating Health Care in Ontario
• Networking 101 in Canada
• Understanding the Canadian Banking System
• Housing Search Session
• Understanding the Settlement Journey
• Employment Rights + Basic Job Search Information

Childcare:

• drop off children ages 4-16
• fun activities with other newcomer children

Networking:

• Canadian volunteers from a variety of professional backgrounds will be available throughout the day for professional networking
• meet other newcomers to build your community and social life for you and your family

Lunch and refreshments will be provided!
